Fine Art Photography
20 Mar
I think it’s always good to try something new. It not only helps me learn, it gets the creative juices flowing. That’s why I was excited to have the chance to take a workshop on creating fine art images from Jeff Johnson, a master photographer and a friend I’ve known for many years in the photography world. We spent the morning photographing what some might consider junk, others consider salvage and I consider really cool old stuff.
I had a great time looking for treasures in the salvage yard. Of course as a photographer I’m always looking for how the light strikes something. But, this was also a creative challenge to look for stories to tell, creative angles and what lens would work the best. Jeff let me borrow his Canon 100mm macro which is a beautiful lens. The clarity and the minimal focusing distance are fantastic. So, of course, I’m convinced I now need to add that to my arsenal of camera equipment.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the workshop. Let me know what you think
